What is a VI Peel?
The VI Peel is a skin resurfacing chemical peel that stimulates collagen and increases cellular turnover to reveal smoother and more radiant skin. It is a mid-depth peel that is safe for all skin types and tones.
Contraindications
Who is not a candidate for VI Peel
You can not have a chemical peel if:
-you're pregnant or breastfeeding
-undergoing chemotherapy/radiation within the past 6 months
-allergy to aspirin, phenol, or hydroquinone
-oral isotretinoin within 6 months
-have active cold sores, open wounds/skin in the treatment area

What to expect post treatment
You will be sent home with a post treatment care kit.
VI Peels are self neutralizing, it is important to leave the peel on for four hours. After four hours wash with the gentle cleanser provided. Use the first post peel towelette followed by post treatment repair cream. The repair cream may sting upon application but will quickly subside. For excessively red, dry or chapped skin, aquaphor can be applied.
After the peel areas of pigmentation may appear darker. The change in color will be most evident on days 2-3, however it can happen immediately.
The level of peeling may vary from flaking to heavy peeling. Patients will peel as much as their skin needs. It is normal to experience slight irritation, itchiness, or inflammation. Dark spots may temporarily darling during the peeling process. Acne purging may occur as impurities are brought to the surface of the skin.
During the peeling phase the use of sunblock is essential.
Refrain from activities that cause sweating for minimum of 72-96 hours.
Never pick, pull or scrub the skin during peeling.
Typically peeling begins on the third day, by day six most exfoliation should subside.

Recommendations
A minimum of a series of three treatments is recommended, however some clients may need more dependent on skin goals.
Treatments are typically done every 4-6 weeks. And then maintenance treatments.
VI Peel is good for rough texture, keratosis pillars, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, melasma, PIH, acne prone skin, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, excessively oily and congested skin.
