What is the Process?
A couple of vials of blood will be drawn and placed in the centrifuge. Once the plasma is separated from the red blood cells, it can be collected and injected back into the treatment area.
PRF can release growth factors for up to 2-3 weeks post injection. It can take between 6-8 weeks to see full results.
Any swelling and bruising should be completely resolved by two weeks. It is advised to avoid blood thinners, hot tubs, saunas, ice packs directly to treatment area, and anti-inflammatories for 2-3 days post treatment.
What is PRF?
Platelet rich fibrin, or PRF, is derived from your own blood. When blood is centrifuged, the red blood cells become separated from the plasma, allowing for the harvest of plasma rich in platelets, growth factors, white blood cells, and fibrinogen. This plasma solution, known as PRF, can then be re-injected into areas to stimulate tissue regeneration, repair and collagen synthesis.
